Who We Are?

The Team

In September 2023, TLS’e Racing was established to represent the city of Toulouse on the global Formula Student stage. This innovative initiative brings together the internationally recognized schools ISAE SUPAERO and INSA Toulouse, under the Université de Toulouse, with a shared vision to design and build a cutting-edge electric and autonomous car to compete in both Formula Student categories, EV and DV.

Our team comprises over 25 talented members. We operate within a dynamic and collaborative environment, structured around the Scrum management framework. This approach empowers our members to self-manage, continuously learn from experiences, and swiftly adapt to changes, fostering  innovation and resilience.

Formula Student

Established in 1981, Formula Student is an international recognised engineering competition where university students design, build, and race small single-seater race cars in different categories: Combustion Vehicle, Electric Vehicle,  Autonomous Drive, Hybrid Vehicle and Concept Class. The objective is to compete against other universities in static and dynamic events at the most famous circuits all over the world. Only in Europe,  there are events held at Silverstone (UK), Montmeló (Spain), Hockenheimring (Germany), and many others.

Concept Class

The Concept Class competition is held at the renowned Silverstone circuit in the UK. In a Concept Class competition, teams present their designs, why may or may not include manufactured parts. The event focuses solely on static events and a Lap Time Simulator. There are three static events, each judged by a professional jury: Engineering Design, Cost & Manufacturing and Business Plan.

  • Engineering Design (150 points): explanation of the engineering process followed to design the car.
  • Cost & Manufacturing (150 points): justification of the budget and manufacturing processed used.
  • Business Plan (120 points): a business plan based on the designed car.
  • Lap Time simulator (40 points)
